The Chelmsford Club was founded in 1917-18.

The Chelmsford Club was raised on 27th July, 1928 on a Lease Deed signed between the Secretary of State for India and Chelmsford Club Limited. This Lease Deed was signed by Mr. P. Mukherjee, the then Joint Honorary Secretary, Chelmsford Club Ltd and Mr. JNE Johnson.
